Grade 1 began this activity with a guided drawing lesson. Color, line and shape were all discussed while working on this project. We used white drawing chalk to draw our pigs, when the children were satisfied with their work black crayons were brought out to outline the contour of the pig only. Paint was then applied. Pink for the pig with green in the foreground and blue in the background. During week two children refined their drawing and added facial features to their pig using crayons. Chalk was used in the background and foreground for any extra details, such as fence posts, sunsets, flowers, grass, etc. Afterwards crayons again were used for coloring in these details. What fun they had, oink oink, down on the farm!
Thank you Patty at Deep Space Sparkle art blog for inspiring us with your creative lessons.
