I was pretty impressed by what my 7th grade students could do with a piece of folded paper and two slits cut in it representing the seat of a pop up chair! We began by first looking at Van Gogh's chair and discussing Post Impressionism. After that the students were off to do their own thing! And they didn't disappoint me. We used mainly watercolor paints, after all I wanted them to have a trace of impressionism in them. Some chose to use markers as an accent. These are a few examples of the ones that were completed but check back because I have a few that are sure to be great once they are finished. I don't want to forget to mention that I saw the idea for this pop out chair over at http://useyourcolouredpencils.blogspot.com/.
What a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors and lines of these chairs.
Thank you Marilena. I thought it was a great idea also so I jumped right on it! Next year I may have the students put something on their chair. Like a cat or book, etc. Not enough time this year for that.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking back to me. They look very cool!
