First grade loves the story of Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister. We of course began this lesson by reading the story. After which we practiced painting rhythmic paint strokes using blue paint for the water. Crayons were used on a separate sheet of paper while practicing the correct order of the colors of the rainbow. During week two the students practiced drawing fish, seashells and plants. The drawings were then cut out from the rainbow colored paper and glued down to the painted water background!
It's been a great year and school is definitely winding down rapidly all of the end of the year activities have made it hard to find time for blogging. Hopefully I'll be able to post a few more lessons before I put my paints, crayons, scissors and glue down for the summer!
