This week with my Primary students I used a lesson I saw over at We Heart Art. You will find the link below. I really liked how she approached this drawing lesson and so I thought I'd give it a go. It was a lot of fun for the kids. The children love animals, enjoy drawing and paint is always a big hit. We drew the letter "X" as suggested to create the head and body of the tiger then proceeded to add the stripes with a black crayon. We surrounded the tiger with triangular shaped leaves to get a feeling of a Rain Forest. We also read the book The Great Kapok Tree for inspiration. We completed this project by using tempera cakes. We managed to learn a little art history in the process as we viewed images by Henri Rousseau.
Enjoy, and thank you" We Heart Art" for the great idea.
