Welcome to Dream, Draw Create!
This blog features art projects for children. These projects have been used in my classes. My lessons allow children to learn about all the elements and principles of art while striving to introduce them to many genres of art.

Mask making in lower elementary

I was so happy with my group of first, second and third grade students.  They had so much fun and came up with so many creative ideas in this Papier Mache art lesson.  This lesson took three forty minute art lessons to complete.  My classes are pretty large at 24 students per class and the energy was palpable as the students happily painted, glued and embellished their masterpieces.
We discussed many different ideas and ways to create a mask as well as the cultural significance of masks in many cultures to get their imaginations running.
